Growing up in Massachusetts, me and my friends never heard much about land mines. But these devices of death and destruction are a very real danger to children all around the world... including here in America. Our leaders would like us to believe that these land mines don't exist here at home. That we are immune to their murderous powers. But I have a different message: Teach your children to fear and respect the land mines. It could save their lives. Often I have a dream. Me and my pal are headed to Fenway. The world is perfect. Then he is obliterated by a mine field. All that is left is his arm and a bloody Steve Garvey mitt. I don't want that to be any of your kids' arms. Thank you.
